Make the rules together

A playful scene needs room for two.

You do not need a long biography to start. A clear invitation, a small game and a way to pause give the conversation somewhere to go.

Choose one simple game

Make the first turn an invitation

“You look far too confident. Shall we see who laughs first?” gives the character a question to answer. Starting by deciding what she agrees to removes that useful part of the exchange.

Agree on pacing and a pause

Start with one or three rounds. Say who goes first and name a stop signal, such as “Pause”. Ask the AI to stop when either player uses it and to leave your responses for you to write. An instruction is not a guarantee of how a third-party model will behave; you can always end the chat.

Take the card into a real chat

Our scene builder prepares text locally. Copy the card, open a public adult character on OurDream and paste it into that conversation. The page does not send the card or automatically configure the character.

Make the character's premise work for you

Open the public profile and read its original description before using a game. A musician, an outgoing friend and a shy companion can all lead to different conversations. Choose the story that sounds interesting to you rather than assuming every profile shares the same preferences. Our short card descriptions help you compare the starting premises; they are not a test of every possible reply.

Write one opening, not the whole conversation

A useful opening contains a place, a reason to play and a question. For example: “We have a quiet evening and a very competitive board game on the table. Would you like to add one playful challenge between rounds?” Let the character respond before describing what happens next. If the answer changes the mood, adjust the scene instead of repeating a long instruction unchanged.

Keep the score smaller than the story

For a first conversation, try a single round with an optional rematch. Five rounds can be useful when both characters already have a rhythm, but it is not automatically a better choice. The number on your scene card is a suggestion for the writing, not a timer in the partner app. Ask for shorter turns if the model writes too much at once.

When the model gets ahead of you

If the AI writes your reply, accepts a challenge for you or skips several turns, interrupt with a short correction: “Leave my next action to me. Ask one question and wait.” You can also paste only the stop and turn-taking instructions again. A clear correction is often easier to follow than adding another paragraph of conflicting rules to the original setup.

Change one thing for the rematch

Keep the same partner and switch from scoring smiles to a question game, or keep the game and let your partner lead. This gives you a concrete difference to react to. Do not expect the website's selector to carry those changes into an open chat automatically: copy the new card or explain the change yourself inside the conversation.

Choose your next step

Use the scene card builder when you have a game in mind, or compare the four character profiles first. If you plan to add voice or generated images, read what opens and what may cost credits. A text scene can work on its own; media is a separate decision.
